Camp Bucoco is located along the Slippery Rock Creek in Slippery Rock Township in Butler County, Pennsylvania — about 2 miles from Slippery Rock University. Camp Bucoco serves as the Council Boy Scout resident camp during the summer.
Camp Bucoco sits on 280 acres, and includes 11 camp sites, 4 rustic cabins for short term rentals, and a newly remodeled dining hall suitable for up to 250 guests. A group picnic pavilion is available for rent, and is equipped with a charcoal grill, overhead lighting and electrical power.
When not in use for summer resident camp, Camp Bucoco hosts short term camping, Order of the Arrow activities and programs, and family camping, among other things.
Moraine Trails Council is proud to offer the Preston Environmental Center, located on the grounds of Camp Bucoco. This beautiful multi-functional building hosts many Scouting and community activities. The Center boasts an impressive entry hall, a huge meeting room for large groups, and 3 smaller classrooms for breakout sessions. The Preston Environmental Center has already been utilized for several courts of honor… and even a couple weddings!
Troop 553 has been attending Camp Bucoco since the Summer of 2013 and we still continue to attend Camp Bucoco year after year. Below you will find our yearly camp group pictures, taken at the start of each week of summer camp.
